Enhance and Protect Your Videos with the Video Watermarker Tool

In today's digital landscape, protecting your creative content and maintaining brand consistency is more important than ever. Whether you are a content creator, a social media marketer, or a business owner, adding a watermark to your videos ensures that your work remains identifiable, even if it is shared or reposted across multiple platforms. Our Video Watermarker tool is a powerful, browser-based application designed to help you quickly and securely apply text or image watermarks directly to your video files.

Unlike traditional video editing software which can be bulky and time-consuming, or online tools that require you to upload your sensitive media to a remote server, this tool operates entirely within your web browser. Leveraging the power of FFmpeg.wasm, all processing is done locally on your device. This means your files never leave your computer, ensuring complete privacy, zero upload wait times, and maximum security for your unreleased or confidential footage.

How to Use the Video Watermarker

Applying a watermark to your video is straightforward and intuitive. Follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Select Your Video. Click the "Select Video" button to browse and load a video file from your device. The tool supports standard web video formats like MP4, WebM, and MOV.
  • Step 2: Choose Watermark Type. Using the sidebar controls, toggle between "Text" or "Image" depending on what kind of watermark you want to apply.
  • Step 3: Customize the Watermark.
    • For Text watermarks, type your desired content (e.g., "© 2024 MyBrand"). You can customize the text color, background color, font size, text opacity, and background opacity to ensure it stands out without obscuring the video.
    • For Image watermarks, upload a PNG or JPG logo. You can then adjust the image scale and its transparency (opacity) so it blends perfectly into your footage.
  • Step 4: Position and Resize interactively. Instead of guessing coordinates, simply click and drag the watermark around the live video preview to place it exactly where you want it. You can also use the resize handle in the corner of the watermark to make quick scale adjustments.
  • Step 5: Generate and Download. Once you are satisfied with the preview, click "Generate Video." The underlying FFmpeg engine will process the video and burn the watermark directly into the frames. After processing is complete, you can download your newly protected MP4 file!

Practical Worked Example

Let's walk through a realistic scenario to demonstrate how the tool operates in practice.

Scenario A: Adding a Copyright Text Watermark

  • Input Video: nature-broll.mp4 (A short 10-second nature clip).
  • Watermark Settings: Type set to "Text". Content: "Copyright John Doe". Text Color: #ffffff (White). Background Color: #000000 (Black). Font Size: 30px. Text Opacity: 80%. Background Opacity: 40%.
  • Positioning: Dragged to the bottom-right corner of the video preview.
  • Output: After clicking "Generate Video," the tool renders watermarked-video.mp4. Throughout the entire video, a subtle, semi-transparent black box with white text ("Copyright John Doe") is permanently embedded in the bottom-right corner.

Scenario B: Adding a Transparent Logo

  • Input Video: product-demo.mp4.
  • Watermark Settings: Type set to "Image". Image uploaded: company-logo.png (A transparent logo). Scale: 50%. Opacity: 60%.
  • Positioning: Dragged to the top-left corner of the video.
  • Output: The generated watermarked-video.mp4 features the company's logo smoothly blended into the top-left corner, ensuring brand visibility without distracting viewers from the product demonstration.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are my videos uploaded to a server?
No. The Video Watermarker tool utilizes WebAssembly and FFmpeg technologies to process your video entirely within your local browser. Your files are never uploaded, stored, or viewed by our servers. This guarantees 100% privacy and security.
Why is the video processing taking a long time?
Video rendering is a computationally intensive task. Because the processing is done inside your web browser using your device's hardware rather than a massive cloud server farm, the time it takes to process will depend on your device's CPU, the length of the video, and the video's resolution. For faster processing, try to watermark shorter or lower-resolution videos if high fidelity isn't strictly necessary.
What formats does the exported video use?
Currently, the tool outputs the processed video in standard MP4 format. MP4 is universally supported across almost all modern devices, web browsers, and social media platforms.
Can I use both text and image watermarks at the same time?
At this time, the tool supports adding either a text watermark or an image watermark in a single processing run. If you need both, you can process the video with an image watermark, download it, and then upload the newly generated video to apply a text watermark on top.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes, there is a maximum file size limit dictated by server configuration settings (even though the file processes locally, the initial page load parameters define bounds for browser stability). The interface will automatically notify you if your selected video exceeds the maximum allowed file size. If your file is too large, consider compressing it before applying a watermark.
